Chinze Ojobo

Chinze studied Fine and Applied Arts at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. She was a student of renowned artists – El Anatsui & Obiora Udechukwu. She also studied Interior Design in Los Angeles, California, USA and Art Curating and Art Business at Sotheby’s, London.
Her art is characterised by high texture, vibrant colours & symbolism with a touch  of Uli. She favours mixed media, using acrylics on canvas, wood and jute.
Chinze’s artform has evolved over the years into a new distinctive medium called Ute-Osisi. She is an activist, using her work to highlight societal challenges. She is a strong advocate for the Girl-Child, using her exhibition Glass Ceiling Shattered at the European School of Economics in London to highlight the plight of the girl-child in Africa; stressing the limitations and restrictions placed in the path of her dreams.
Chinze has participated in multiple local and international art exhibitions, including
the New York Art Expo, Plovdiv Bulgaria, Johannesburg, Hollywood, California, Paris, Lagos, Abuja, Enugu. Her works have been curated for Bonham’s and Chalkwell Art, UK. The African Achievers Award recognized her strides in art and awarded her the winner of the African Achievers Award in Art in 2018 at the House of Commons, London.
Her works are in many high profile collections globally. Chinze is currently the president of the Female Artists Association of Nigeria (FEAAN).
