Art of Change is a visual arts exhibition of diverse media by women representatives of the Commonwealth. This is in line with the 2011 theme of the Commonwealth "Women as Agents of Change".
To drive this theme of Change, the exhibition is focused on women artists from the Commonwealth who create or inspire change. Their stories are visually represented through art. Artists were tasked to portray change in whatever creative fashion they chose. They also provided an accompanying synopsis which gave an insight into the message behind their work. The outcome was quite remarkable with artsts expressing themselves in a multitude of diverse media, both visual and written. This was captured in the comprehensive 50 page exhibition catalogue.
The High Commissions' of participating Commonwealth countries supported the exhibition by nominating suitable women artists to take part. Their work was showcased at the Royal Commonwealth Society's Commonwealth Club Gallery from 18 July to 5 August 2011. The private view took place on 18 July and was well attended by a number of High Commissioners and representatives of the Commonwealth, distinguished guests and art lovers.
